Library to move in January
New Ulm Public Library will make the move to its new building in early January, Jan. 5, according to discussion at the New Ulm Library Board meeting Thursday.
The new building is now in the finishing stages. The present library will be closed for two weeks during the move, so members felt it should be open during Christmas vacation because of heavy student use during that period. The move will take place after students have gone back to college.
The board postponed a definite decision on when to hold and open house at the new library. A date in late January, maybe Jan. 18, was preferred.
In other business, the board reappointed all officers. They are C. Allen Dosland, president; Jane Seifert,vice-president; Carl Crone, treasurer; Bil Macklin, secretary;James Zetah, assistant secretary. The board also heard Erwin Wieben of the Lions Club explain that the Lions would like to buy something for the new library. The board passed a motion to prepare a list of items needed and present it to various organizations in New Ulm.
