Immanuel Lutheran School of rural Courtland is a very busy school. They are located on County Road 25 about three miles southeast of Courtland. They are a Preschool through 8th grade school.

Dan Erdman has been principal and teacher at the school for the last 35 years. He teaches the 7th and 8th grade students. He said, "If parents are looking for a great Christian education for their children, they should consider our school. We have small class sizes, caring teachers, and many opportunities for our students to grow and learn."

In addition to Erdman, there are four other full-time teachers and three part-time teachers. For the 2023-2024 school year, the school has fifty-seven students.

Mark Dicke, the current 3rd and 4th grade teacher, has been teaching at the school for 20 years. He also puts together the school's yearbook. He said, "There are so many activities going on at our school beyond academics that I have no problem finding things to put in our yearbook."

The school offers basketball, volleyball, soccer, track and field, and softball. Erdman said, "The advantage of our small school is that students are able to begin participating in sports as early as 3rd grade and sometimes even 2nd grade."

Besides sports, the school offers choir, handbells, tone chimes and piano. Every other year, they offer a musical or a variety night where students and teachers participate. Students have also participated in competitions at the Fine Arts Fair held
