To the editor: First, a reminder to Mr Platz and the Journal editorial staff: The title of Mr Platz’s letter to the editor of 7-31-25 referred to an “AP poll” when in fact it was about a Gallup Poll in an AP article. Regardless of a reader’s opinion of Associated Press articles, the Gallup Poll is a highly respected organization for factual information. Don’t believe AP poll on immigration is accurate

To the editor: A front page Journal article on July 12-13 spoke of US views from a “Gallop Poll”. The Associated Press article said the polls suggest U.S. citizens have decreasing support for President Trump’s deportations and “other anti-immigration policies”. I believe quite the opposite is true. President Trump and U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement leader Tom Homan have huge support in their mission to deport illegal aliens from this country. To the editor: On July 3, I watched in dismay as Republicans gathered ’round the President to give a final attestation to the criminally cruel bill for which 47 had begged. I’m sure that the chronically spineless House members, who have stayed clear of town halls in droves, are clandestinely conjuring up alternate truths to vindicate themselves when the reality of cuts to Medicaid hits the fan. Brad) Finstad: While your quip regarding the Department of Education at the April 2025 CCW Convention was quick (“The Department of Education doesn’t actually education anyone.”), it is inaccurate nor does it address the work this department is required to do. Waste – what is the definition?

To the editor: Mr (U.S. Rep. Brad) Finstad said he is proud to vote for the Recessions Act as an act to eliminate “waste”. Perhaps I don’t understand the waste in SNAP and Public Media. I understand fraud and improved efforts to see financial assistance gets to the people who need it. I understand focused funding to provide priority educational efforts.
