Antiques & Collecting: Disabled artist cuts silhouettes by mouth

A recent catalog gave a description of a silhouette as “cut by mouth.” Martha Ann Honeywell (1786-1856) was a disabled artist who cut silhouettes and did needlework without using her hands. She was born without hands or forearms and was also missing two toes. She could cut and paste, thread a needle, embroider and write using her mouth, toes and the upper part of her arms. Honeywell performed around the United States and in Europe for almost 60 years. Off the Shelf: Library adds Wi-Fi hotspots

I am pleased to share that the New Ulm Public Library has added 40 Wi-Fi hotspots to its collection. These hotspots are administered by the Traverse des Sioux Regional Library (TdS), of which New Ulm Public Library is a member. TdS received funding for these hotspots through the Emergency Connectivity Fund, part of the American Rescue Plan Act. TdS was able to purchase 1000 Wi-Fi hotspots to be distributed to interested public libraries throughout the nine-county region that it serves.
