Bowers earns Valley’s Player of the Year
The Tomahawk-Valley Conference, Valley Division announced its All-Valley Volleyball team selections on Thursday morning, with Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Truman/Martin Luther’s Londyn Bowers (OH) earning the Player of the Year award.
Bowers made the Valley team and was joined by two teammates with Honorable Mention selections in Keira Benck (S) and Willow Singleton (L).
Dave Nixon from Cleveland took home the Valley Division Coach of the Year honors after guiding the Clippers to the Class A State Tournament. Nixon had four players on the All-Conference team in Melia Sathoff (OH), Jocelyn Kortuem (S), Delaney Thompson (L) and Taylor McCabe (OH). Cleveland’s Luci Blaschko (DS) was an Honorable Mention.
From the area, Madelia earned two honors as senior Makayla Sorenson (OH) made the team and junior Carissa Sorenson (MB) was an Honorable Mention.
Also on the All-Valley team were Martin County West’s Maddie Carlson (OH) and Emily Schettler (S). The Mavericks had one other player named an Honorable Mention in Rowan Faber (L/RS/OH).
Alden-Conger had Macy Hanson (MB), Alyvia Newman (OH), Charlotte Rendal (S) make the team, with Peyton Harpham (L) making Honorable Mention.
Rounding out the team were Mankato Loyola’s Olivia Templin (OH) and Azalea Gilbertson (L), while Loyola’s Bella Giefer (S) was an Honorable Mention.
