HUTCHINSON — New Ulm Junior Legion Gold defeated Hutchinson 6-5 on Monday night in nine innings of junior legion baseball action.

Jace Schaefer got the win for Jr. Gold in relief of Zach Paszkiewicz. Grant Bruns started and went six innings, giving up three hits and two walks while fanning seven.

At the plate for New Ulm, Austin Enter was 2 for 4 with a triple, two runs scored and an RBI. Levi Franta was 1 for 4 with two RBIs, Gavin Epper was 1 for 3 with an RBI and Drew Domeier added a double.

Jr. Gold hosts Mankato American at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Mueller Park.
