SLEEPY EYE — Johnny Petermann’s go-ahead RBI single in the fifth inning was enough to give Sleepy Eye VFW a 1-0 win over Blue Earth on Wednesday.

Nick Mielke pitched seven shutout innings for Sleepy Eye, giving up five hits and three walks while fanning 10.

Sleepy Eye is 4-1 overall and plays at MACCRAY/Sacred Heart on Friday before hosting a doubleheader with St. James on Saturday.
