FAIRFAX — Minnesota Valley Lutheran defeated Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop in a Tomahawk Conference baseball game on Tuesday.

Josh Giefer and Cole Thompson each had two hits for the Chargers and Zach Riederer finished with two RBIs.

Caleb Carlovsky pitched five innings for the win. He struck out five.

MVL hosts Sleepy Eye in a doubleheader on Thursday.

Madelia 10, JWP 4, 8 innings

JANESVILLE — Madelia defeated Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton in a Valley Conference baseball game on Tuesday.

Dylan Grev pitched six innings and struck out eight. Elijah McCabe earned the win and also went 2 for 4. Garrett Reed was 2 for 4 with two RBIs.

Madelia (2-4, 2-0) is at Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial on Thursday.

St. Mary’s 10, Nicollet 1

SLEEPY EYE — Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s defeated Nicollet in a nonconference baseball game on Tuesday.

Carson Domeier struck out 12 and gave up six hits over seven innings. Kyle Goblirsch was 2 for 2 with three RBIs and Jacob Stevens had an RBI for the Knights, who host New Ulm Cathedral in a doubleheader on Thursday.

RCW 5, Wabasso 4

WABASSO — Renville County West defeated Wabasso in a nonconference baseball game on Tuesday.

Carter Benz took the loss for the Rabbits. He allowed four runs on five hits in 2 2/3 innings. He struck out seven.

Adryen Tietz had a double for Wabasso and Colby Wall was 2 for 4. Will Carlson went 3 for 4 for Wabasso.

New Ulm 9, Waseca 6

WASECA — New Ulm defeated Waseca in a Big South Conference baseball game on Thursday.

New Ulm did not report any game statistics.

New Ulm is at Marshall on Thursday.

NEW ULM — New Ulm Cathedral won a Tomahawk Conference boys’ golf triangular on Tuesday at the New Ulm Country Club.

Logan Haala led Cathedral with a 48, Wabasso’s Jayden Carlson shot a 49 and Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop’s Chris Burger shot a 49.

On the girls’ side, Kayla Goblirsch led Cathedral with a 50, GFW’s Marti Jacobsen shot a 61 and Jenna Schweiss had a 62.
