WILMAR — New Ulm VFW Silver defeated Willmar 4-3 on Thursday night.

VFW Silver took the lead from Wilmar in the top of the sixth on Blake Soukup’s two-run double and Anton Freiderich pitched two innings to earn the save.

Carter Haala earned the win, throwing four innings in relief and allowing only one run.

Jack Albrecht and Grant Bruns each collected two hit in the victory.
