Prep roundup: BLHS girls defeat RCW, Nicollet boys win

BLHS 75, RCW 23
HECTOR — Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart defeated Renville County West 75-23 on Monday in a Section 2A North Subsection girls’ basketball playoff game.
BLHS was led by Sara Kottke with 28 points, five assists and five steals, Kristi Kottke with 8 points, seven assists, six steals and one block and Maddy Wulkan with 14 points.
For RCW, Lauren Wulf scored 10 points and Vanessa Savig scored 6 points.
Boys’ basketball
Nicollet 74, Medford 32
NICOLLET — Nicollet defeated Medford 74-32 on Monday in a nonconference boys’ basketball game.
Nicollet was led by Riley Hulke with 30 points and eight assists, Shane Stevensen with 18 points and Colton Thomsen with 14 points and six rebounds.
Sleepy Eye 56, Madelia 50
MADELIA — Sleepy Eye defeated Madelia 56-50 on Monday in a nonconference boys’ basketball game.
Sleepy Eye’s Kegan Heiderscheidt scored 30 points, 25 in the second half and the final 13 points of the game.
The Indians begin Section 2A playoffs at 7 p.m. on Thursday at Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop.
Madelia was led by Ja’Sean Glover’s 31 points, nine rebounds and four steals. Ethan Arndt had 10 rebounds.
Madelia is at Mankato Loyola on Thursday for the Section 2A playoffs.
