GAYLORD — New Ulm Cathedral defeated Sibley East in a nonconference boys’ basketball game on Saturday.

For the Greyhounds, Jon Zinniel led the way with 23 points. Kyle Goblirsch and Chris Knowles each finished with 12 points.

MVL 63, MCW 58

NEW ULM — Minnesota Valley Lutheran defeated Martin County West in a nonconference boys’ basketball game on Saturday.

Dunwa Omot scored 32 points to lead the Chargers. He also had five steals and six rebounds. Mason Cox finished with 15 points for MVL.

Girls’ basketball

LQPV 78, Wabasso 65

MARSHALL — Lac qui Parle Valley defeated Wabasso in a Section 3A girls’ basketball game on Saturday.

Sarah Franta scored 27 points to lead Wabasso. Ally Fenger finished with 12 points and Bella Brand scored 10 for the Rabbits.
