New Ulm blanks Minnesota River

LE SUEUR — Six different players added a goal for New Ulm on Thursday night as it cruised to a 6-0 win over Minnesota River in Big South Conference girls’ hockey action at the Le Sueur Ice Arena.

Morgan Klein scored the first goal for the Eagles at 4:03 into the first period before Molly Scheid, Maddie O’Connor, Alexa Steffl and Julia Helget each added a goal in the second period. Jada Rahe scored New Ulm’s final goal 6:59 into the third period.

Emma Brudelie had two assists for New Ulm, while Scheid, Helget, Steffl, Ally Steffensmeier and Brooke Arneson added an assist each. Ava Brennan made four saves on four shots on goal for New Ulm.

The Eagles outshot the Bulldogs 44-4.

New Ulm (3-2) travels to Waconia next for a 7:15 p.m. game Monday.
