BEMIDJI — The Martin Luther College men’s basketball team opened its season with a 104-37 win over Oak Hills Christian at a two-day tournament hosted by Bemidji State on Friday.

The Knights dominated from the opening tip, shooting 57.0 percent from the field as all 14 players scored.

MLC led 50-17 at the half and continued its strong play on both ends of the court in the second half on the way to the 67-point win.

Oak Hills Christian committed 24 turnovers that turned into 37 points for MLC on the other end.

Jonathan Riebe led five MLC players in double figures with 16 points. Also for MLC, Jack Heichelbech scored 15 points, while Nathan Spaude had 11 points. Joseph Hirsch and Joey Behm each added 10 points.
