NEW ULM — Despite scoring the first goal of game against Marshall, things quickly turned sour for the New Ulm boys’ soccer team.

The Eagles watched the Tigers score five straight goals en route to a 5-1 Big South Conference victory on Tuesday at New Ulm High School.

New Ulm’s Aaron Eikanger scored the lone goal for the Eagles just 7 minutes into the game, but Marshall responded often after that.

Eli Salisbury scored Marshall’s first goal at 26:51 to tie the game up. It looked like it could possibly be tied at the break, but the Tigers got a couple of breaks late in the first half.

After grabbing a 2-1 lead, the Tigers made it 3-1 after Mazin Abdaliah scored with just 17 seconds remaining in the half.

In the second half, the Tigers continued to put the pressure on, taking a 4-1 lead on a header by Bryan Ramirez just 3 minutes into the half.

The Tigers got their fifth goal of the game after Abdulahi Omar scored with 17:41 remaining in the game.

New Ulm (7-7) hosts Worthington on Tuesday in another Big South Conference game.
