MLC men finish 2nd

FALCON HEIGHTS — The Martin Luther College men’s golf team finished second out of five teams at the North Central Invite at Les Bolstad Golf Course on Tuesday.

The Knights finished with a final team score of 332 strokes, just one stroke behind tournament-winner St. Scholastica’s total of 331. Bethany Lutheran took third with 337 strokes.

Sophomore Stephen Biebert led MLC and finished third overall with a round of 80, just two off the pace of the two players who tied for first place at the event.

Kyle Lindemann and Zackary Zuberbier each shot 83 to tie for seventh place, while Chris Biebert’s round of 86 tied for 13th place.

Lindemann leads MLC women’s team

FALCON HEIGHTS — MLC senior women’s golfer Alison Lindemann took first place at the NCU Invite on Tuesday at Les Bolstad Golf Course.

Lindemann’s round of 85 was the lowest among the 34 individuals from nine different teams at the event, topping the second-place score by two strokes.

MLC finished fifth in the team competition with a final team score of 438 strokes.

Melina Satorius (104) was the Knights’ second-best finisher in 20th place, while Cassandra Rose (121) and Lexi Fischer (128) rounded out the top four.

UW-River Falls won the team competition with a team score of 372 strokes, followed by Augsburg (382) and Bethany Lutheran (406).

MLC will return to action at the Saxony Cup match against Bethany Lutheran on Thursday at Waseca Lakeside Golf Course.
