BLOOMINGTON — New Ulm Junior Legion Gold scored five runs in the top of the sixth inning to turn a tight 3-2 lead over Eden Prairie into an 8-3 win in the second round of the 2019 Junior American Legion State Tournament.

Hunter Sehr got the pitching win for New Ulm, now 24-7. Sehr went the distance, scattering four hits. The left-hander also fanned two.

Sehr and Jackson Bode each had two hits, with Nolan Drill and Tony Geiger each doubling,

Geiger added two RBIs.

The Junior Legion team now plays Hopkins and 11 a.m. Saturday morning in the winner’s bracket semifinals at Red Haddox Field in Bloomington. A win on Saturday moves Jr. Gold to the championship game on Sunday.
