New Ulm VFW Silver 6, Maple River 1

MINNESOTA LAKE — New Ulm VFW Silver took a late lead in a 6-1 victory over Maple River Wednesday in VFW baseball action.

Jaden Drill was the winning pitcher for Silver. He pitched two innings, allowing no hits and no runs while striking out two and walking none. Carter Lang and Carson Helget threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Jace Schaefer started the game for Silver. He surrendered no runs on one hit over three innings, striking out one and walking none.

Isaiah Rieser, Jaden Miller and Brody Bushard each collected a hit to lead Silver at the plate.

SLEEPY EYE — Sleepy Eye VFW Post 800 topped Mankato Maroon 6-4 on Wednesday night in VFW baseball action.

Kegan Heiderscheidt was 2 for 3 with three RBIs to lead Sleepy Eye, while Jacob Meyer was 2 for 3 with two RBIs. Jacob Stevens took the win on the mound, going three innings and allowing one earned run.
