MANKATO — Sleepy Eye Legion Post 7 lost its first two games of the season on Monday, falling to Mankato American in a legion baseball doubleheader on Monday.

American won 2-1 in Game 1 and 10-6 in Game 2.

American took the first game with a walk-off hit in the bottom of the seventh. Dominic Helget got the loss for Post 7 in 4 2/3 innings with four strikeouts, three walks and six hits allowed.

Jacob Berg led Post 7 with a triple and scored the lone run for Post 7 on a single by Ethan Fischer.

In Game 2, Nick Labat took the loss on the mound for Post 7, pitching 2 2/3 innings and allowing five walks with a pair of strikeouts. Carter Brinkman led the Sleepy Eye bats with a double and three RBIs, while Dallas Bauer doubled.

Post 7 (6-2) now hosts Waseca at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
