PERHAM — New Ulm VFW Silver finished third in the Perham VFW/Jr. Legion Tournament on Sunday, defeating Cherry 5-4.

Silver grabbed the lead late in the game Sunday, taking a 5-4 lead in the top of the seventh. Carter Lang got the win for Silver, giving up one run on two hits over four innings, stirking out six and giving up one walk. Maddox Mortensen started the game for Silver and lasted three innings, allowing five hits and three earned runs.

Carson Helget and Lang each had two hits to lead Silver in the hit column.
