MAPLETON — Sleepy Eye VFW Post 800 split a VFW baseball doubleheader with Maple River on Saturday, picking up a 5-3 win in Game 1 and dropping the second game 7-6.

In Game 1, Post 800’s Carson Domeier grabbed the win in seven innings, allowing three unearned runs on six hits with six strikeouts. Spencer Hoffman went 2 for 4 with two RBIs.

In Game 2, Kadon Strong went 3 for 4 with two RBIs. Kegan Heiderscheidt pitched three innings and gave up no runs on three hits.
