NEW ULM — New Ulm VFW Silver fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 9-2 loss to Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart on Sunday in VFW baseball action at Mueller Park.

Despite the loss, Silver out-hit BLHS 7-6.

Carter Lang took the loss for Silver in 1 2/3 innings of work.

Carson Helget went 2 for 4 with a pair of RBIs at the plate to lead Silver on offense.

New Ulm falls to 5-4 with the loss. Silver’s next game is at home Tuesday in a 6 p.m. doubleheader with St. Peter.
