NEW ULM — The New Ulm VFW Silver baseball team split a doubleheader with Blue Earth on Saturday at Mueller Park.

In the first game, Blue Earth defeated New Ulm 15-2 in six innings. Jaden Drill took the loss for New Ulm and offensively, Carter Lang was 2 for 3 with two RBIs. Julian Hernandez was 2 for 2.

In the second game, New Ulm defeated Blue Earth 7-5. New Ulm scored seven runs on just two hits. Maddux Mortensen and Carson Helget each had a hit for New Ulm and Drill had two RBIs.

Mortensen pitched five innings, allowed two hits and five runs, four of them earned.

New Ulm hosts Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart at 1 p.m. on Sunday at Mueller Park.
