Josie Pautzke

SR. New Ulm Cathedral

Daughter of Mike and Dino Pautzke

• Despite a tough 6-2 loss to Edgerton/Southwest Minnesota Christian in the first round of the 2019 Class A State Softball Tournament, Pautzke rebounded the next game against Isle in an 18-1, four-inning win. She only needed to pitch one inning to get the win in the circle against Isle, but she also added an RBI and a double.

• In the fifth-place game against Waterville-Elysian-Morristown, she helped lead the Greyhounds to an 8-2 complete-game win by striking out five and adding three RBIs on a pair of hits.

Pautzke’s consistency, offense and ability in the circle at the state tournament and all season didn’t go unnoticed by Cathedral head coach Jamie Portner.

“Josie is a great player and a big part of CHS softball’s success this season,” Portner said. “With her pitching performances and offensive help, she gives us the opportunity to win every game. She showed her true abilities this [past] weekend at the state tournament and is a huge reason we finished our season with two big wins.”
