New Ulm girls down Mankato East, boys fall to BEA at home

NEW ULM — On a cold, rainy day that saw a majority of local sports being postponed, the New Ulm girls’ and boys’ golf teams played through their scheduled home meets at the New Ulm Country Club on Monday evening.

The New Ulm girls picked up a 185-208 win over Mankato East, while Blue Earth Area got by the New Ulm boys 170-181.

For the girls, Jana Julia Boquet was the medalist, carding a 41 for the Eagles, while Abbey Frauenholtz followed up that score with a 43. Izzie Wolkow shot a 49 for New Ulm, while Makena Otto carded a 52 for the final score.

For the boys, Glavine Schugel was the medalist, shooting a 38, one stroke ahead of BEA’s top score turned in by Braden Gudahl. Aiden Guggisberg followed Schugel up with a 40 for New Ulm, while Kyle Esser (51) and Keagan Schiro (52) turned in the final two scores for the Eagles.
