Mound Westonka downs New Ulm

MOUND — The New Ulm Eagles suffered a season-opening 6-1 loss at the hands of Mound Westonka on Friday night in girls’ hockey action.

New Ulm’s lone goal came off the stick of Madeline Gag with the assist from Emma Brudelie. Cassie Reed had 11 saves for New Ulm, while Jayden Kasiska-Pettersen had four saves.

New Ulm outshot Mound 26-21.

New Ulm’s next game is at home against Rochester Lourdes at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
