New Ulm goes 3-1 in JCC tourney; Wabasso finishes 4-1at Wabasso Invitational

JACKSON — New Ulm went 3-1 on the day in the JCC volleyball tournament, beating Montevideo, Westbrook-Walnut Grove and Triton, while losing to Jackson County Central.

Izzy Wolkow had 52 set assists on the day and was 43 of 51 serving with five aces and 13 digs.

Ashlyn Donner added 18 kills on the day and went 38 for 40 serving with six aces, and 21 digs. Madeline Gag added 12 kills and eight blocks, while Olivia Wick had nine kills and five blocks.

Lizzy Shaul was 25 for 27 serving with 13 digs, while Nora Windschill added 20 kills, 14 digs and was 26 for 30 serving.

Ellie Bute added a pair of kills, 21 digs, four blocks and was 28 for 29 serving.

The Eagles are now 5-5 and are at Fairmont Tuesday.

Wabasso goes 4-1

at Wabasso Invite

WABASSO — Wabasso went 4-1 on Saturday at the the Wabasso Volleyball Invitational, defeating Redwood Valley 25-8, 25-18, Southwest Minnesota Christian 25-14, 25-21, MACCRAY 25-7, 25-16 and Pipestone 25-23, 25-12. They were then defeated by BOLD 26-24, 25-21 in the Gold Division finals.

Maddy Guetter and McKenna Nelson led the Rabbits in kills on the day, adding 71 and 28, respectively. Cora Eichten added 14 kills.

Jenna Frank led Wabasso with 114 total set assists.

Megan Rothmeier led with 48 digs on the day, while Guetter and Nelson added 34 and 31 digs, respectively. Guetter also had seven aces, while Rothmeier added six.

Amanda Hoffman added 12 blocks on the day, while Eicthen had nine.
