Eagles pick up first volleyball win

New Ulm 3, Worthington 0

WORTHINGTON — New Ulm picked up its first win of the season with a 25-19, 25-18, 25-20 victory over Worthington on Monday.

Elizabeth Wolkow had 31 Set assists and nine digs and Ashlyn Donner had six kills and 10 digs. Madeline Gag had nine kills and Nora Windschill had 10 kills.

Sleepy Eye 3, JWP 0

JANESVILLE — Sleepy Eye defeated Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton in a nonconference volleyball match on Monday.

Macy Schenk had nine kills and two blocks and Brittney Dittbenner finished with four kills, 11 digs and three aces. Leslie Flores contributed 12 digs for the Indians.

Sleepy Eye hosts Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart on Monday.

BOLD 3, GFW 0

OLIVIA — BOLD defeated Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop 25-16, 25-14, 25-12 in a nonconference volleyball game on Monday.

Hannah Panitzke had five kills and 10 digs for the Thunderbids and Jordan Rettig had seven set assists. Miah Busse had 13 digs.

GFW is at Springfield on Thursday.

Girls’ soccer

Mankato East 4, New Ulm 2

MANKATO — Mankato East scored three straight goals to start the game and defeated New Ulm 4-2 in nonconference girls’ soccer action on Monday.

Down 3-0, New Ulm’s Paige Kalis scored at the 22-minute mark on an assist from Maddy Roufs.

Roufs scored a goal in the second half on an assist from Elle Cooper.

New Ulm has a Big South Conference game on Tuesday when it hosts Marshall.
