Hanska defeats Springfield in 2C action

LEAVENWORTH — Hanska improved to 2-0 in the Region 2C amateur baseball playoffs with a 7-4 win over Springfield on Sunday.

Dayton Larson went the distance to earn the win for the Lakers. He allowed nine hits and four runs. Leavenworth draftee Andy Cook took the loss for the Tigers. He went 4 2/3 innings, and allowed seven runs on five hits. He walked five and struck out three.

Offensively for Hanska, Eric Portner was 2 for 3 with two home runs, three RBIs and two runs scored. Brady Mosenden was 2 for 4 with a home run and two RBIs and Cole Wellmann had two RBIs.

Alex Fink led the Tigers offensively, going 3 for 4 with three home runs and four RBIs. Branden Flock was 3 for 4.

Springfield (0-2) is at Stark (1-1) on Tuesday. Hanska (2-0) hosts Sleepy Eye (1-1) on Tuesday.
