MORGAN — Cedar Mountain/Comfrey defeated Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Truman/Martin Luther in a nonconference boys’ basketball game on Thursday.

Dylan Hillesheim led the Cougars with 17 points and eight assists. Lewis Pendleton had 16 points and 11 rebounds and Eli Samuelson had 11 points. Justin Lumbar scored 10 points for the Cougars.

CM/C (6-2) hosts Minnesota Valley Lutheran on Friday.

Girls’ basketball

Nicollet 66, JWP 56

NICOLLET — Nicollet defeated Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton 66-56 on Thursday in a Valley Conference girls’ basketball game.

Nicollet was led by Grace Dehen, who scored 25 points. Also for Nicollet, Brook Skrien had 16 points, 12 rebounds and four steals and Sarah Haugum had 10 points and five steals.

JWP’s leading scorer was Brielle Cords, who scored 16 points.

Nicollet (8-4, 3-1) hosts Martin County West at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
