NEW ULM — Rick Traulich, a long-time contributor to New Ulm hockey, was selected as the winner of the 2017 Tom Macho Lifetime Achievement for contributions to hockey in New Ulm.
Past award winners have been Ken Fischer, Larry Kobs, Harvey and Jean Janni, Dick and Jeanie Gleisner, Mike Menard, Dick Mueller, Dick Lieb, Marie Guldan and Norm and Dana Bernholz.
“Rick has been involved in hockey for over 20 years through coaching and he was a board member for the association,” New Ulm Hockey Association’s Mike Peterson said. “His biggest pride was working with the State Bantam Tournament when it was here in New Ulm and he took a lot of pride in that project. He was also a minor official and a public address announcer for 20 years as well.”
