MLC women dominate Great Lakes Christian

MLC 70, GLCC 38

LANSING, Mich. — The Martin Luther College women’s basketball team earned a 70-38 win over Great Lakes Christian College on the second day of a two-day trip to the state of Michigan on Saturday.

The Knights dominated the game from the start and outscored GLCC in all four quarters on the way to the win.

Grace Schultz led MLC with 16 points, and now sits only three points shy of 1,000 for her career.

Hailey Johnson and Jade St. Germaine each finished with nine points, while Kati Aguilar and Cassandra Anklam were each credited with eight points off the bench.

MLC improved to 2-5 on the season with the win. GLCC fell to 0-10 in defeat.

The Knights will return to action on Monday when they host UW-Stout in a game scheduled to start at 7 p.m.

Men’s basketball

GLCC 95, MLC 77

LANSING, Mich. — The Martin Luther College men’s basketball team lost 95-77 at Great Lakes Christian College on day two of its two-day trip to the state of Michigan.

The Knights made 12 3-pointers and came close to matching GLCC from the field, but were outscored 21-3 from the free throw line to make up the difference.

TJ Babinec led all scorers in the game with 24 points and made six 3-point field goals.

Ian Paulsen and Joey Behm each scored 14 points.

MLC fell to 0-6 on the season with the loss. GLCC improved to 1-9 with the win.

The Knights will return to action on Wednesday when they travel to North Central for a game scheduled to tip off at 5:30 p.m.
