New Ulm 3, Fairmont 0

FAIRMONT — New Ulm blanked Fairmont on Monday in a Big South Conference boys’ soccer game.

Wyatt Huard had two goals for the Eagles. His first goal came with 19:54 left in the second half. Jack Howard earned an assist. Huard’s second goal was at 11:25 in the second half with an assist from Brandon Ocampo

Alex Gutzke scored New Ulm’s final goal at 3:41 of the second half with an assist from Huard.

Matthew Janke had 12 saves as goaltender.

New Ulm (3-3-3) will travel to Waseca on Thursday.

Prep volleyball

MVL 3, LCWM 0

LAKE CRYSTAL — Minnesota Valley Lutheran defeated Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial 25-10, 25-16, 25-14 on Monday in a nonconference volleyball match.

Hannah Marzinske led MVL with 15 digs, Mackenzie Helget added 15 set assists and Haley Birkholz had eight kills. Mara Weisensel had eight kills, Lauren Paulsen added seven kills and Maddie Pearson had six set assists.

MVL (5-6) will host New Ulm Cathedral on Thursday.
