Springfield 31, Adrian 21

ADRIAN — Springfield used a balanced attack offensively to defeat Adrian in Southwest District, East Subdistrict football action on Friday.

Decker Scheffler threw for 96 yards and ran for 71 yards for the Tigers. Devin Johnson had a rushing and a receiving touchdown (38 yards) for the Tigers. Scheffler also threw an 18-yard touchdown strike to Andrew Beckman. Beckman also had a defensive touchdown late in the game and he finished with 12 tackles, a sack and two tackles for a loss. Mason Rummel had 12 tackles for the Tigers and a 1-yard touchdown run.

The Tigers (1-2) have their homecoming on Friday when they host Wabasso.

Wabasso 35, TMB 0

WABASSO — Wabasso downed Tracy-Milroy-Balaton 35-0 in a Southwest District, East Subdistrict football game on Friday night.

The Rabbits (3-0, 1-0 SW,E) racked up 285 yards on offense, while allowing just 92 offensive yards.

Nick Altermatt ran for 106 yards and three touchdowns on 13 carries and was 6 for 10 passing for 99 yards. Cooper Taylor ran for 64 yards on 15 carries and added a rushing touchdown.

Kyle Jacobson ran for 19 yards and a touchdown on two carries, while adding four tackles and a sack for the defense.

Cleveland 48, Madelia 8

MADELIA — Cleveland crushed Madelia in 9-man South District football action on Friday.

Josh Sletta scored Madelia’s only touchdown of the game, that coming on a 53-yard rush.

Madelia (1-2) hosts Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s on Friday.

St. Clair 31, MVL 8

NEW ULM – St. Clair defeated Minnesota Valley Lutheran 31-8 on Friday in a Mid-Southeast District, West Subdistrict football game. No stats were submitted to The Journal.

Nicollet 48, West Lutheran 6

NICOLLET — Nicollet picked up its first win of the year with a convincing 48-6 blowout of West Lutheran on Friday.

Ean Thomsen threw for 213 yards and four touchdowns for the Raiders. He also rushed for 101 yards and a score.

Avery Northquest had 164 yards on the ground and a touchdown and Josh Chadderdon had two catches for 58 yards and a touchdown.

Nicollet (1-2) is at Mankato Loyola on Friday.

BLHS 53, CM/C 24

HECTOR — Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart defeated Cedar Mountain/Comfrey in 9-man South District, Central Subdistrict action on Friday.

Dylan Hillesheim had four touchdowns on the night, including an 8-yard reception, an 86-yard kickoff return, an 88-yard touchdown return and a 60-yard touchdown reception.

CM/C hosts Cleveland on Saturday, Sept. 23.
