Mankato East 3, New Ulm 1

MANKATO — Mankato East defeated New Ulm on Monday in a nonconference girls’ soccer match.

Elle Cooper scored the Eagles lone goal at the 33rd minute of the first period. Paige Kalis got the assist. Caleigh Heck had 11 saves as goaltender.

New Ulm (0-5-2) will host Worthington on Thursday.

Prep volleyball

Wabasso 3, BOLD 0

OLIVIA–Wabasso (7-1) defeated BOLD (1-3) 25-20, 25-23, 25-22 in a nonconference volleyball game Monday night.

Maddy Guetter tallied 20 kills, going 18 for 18 at the service line with two aces and eight digs to lead the Rabbits. Gina Goblirsch had nine kills with six digs, and Jenna Frank ended the night with 27 set assists with six gigs.

Wabasso next plays at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart for a Tomahawk Conference game.
