NEW LONDON — The Springfield Legion baseball team won both its games at the Division II Legion baseball tournament on Friday, beating Pine Island 2-0 and BOLD 5-3.

Tanner Vogel had a solo home run in the fifth inning to spark Springfield against Pine Island. Isaac Fink got the win on the mound with eight strikeouts.

Against BOLD, Jevan Richert got the win, having tallied four strikeouts in the complete-game effort.

Branden Flock was 3 for 3, while Hunter Mathiowetz, Ivan Hovland and Decker Scheffler each had two hits apiece.

Springfield advances to the semifinals and will play at either 4 or 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
