NEW ULM — New Ulm VFW Gold swept Blue Earth 10-1 and 16-2 Saturday in a doubleheader at Mueller Park.

Alex Hillesheim got the win in the first game, allowing six hits. Hillesheim and Zach Helget each had two hits in the game. Hillesheim drove in four runs with Colton Schaefer driving in three.

Braden Zimmermann got the win in Game 2. Zimmermann was backed by a defense that turned a triple play.

Mason Cox, Owen Rich and Helget all had three hits. Cox drove in four runs with Noah Hauge driving in three.

Gold hosts Marshall for a doubleheader starting at 4 p.m. Saturday at Mueller Park.
