SPRINGFIELD — Springfield had five players in double figures as the Tigers downed Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart on Friday in a Tomahawk Conference boys’ basketball game.
Isaac Fink scored 24 points, Kale Meendering had 15 points, Decker Scheffler added 13 points, Andrew Beckman had 11 points and Tanner Vogel scored 10 points.
Trent Weispfennig led BLHS with 17 points.
Springfield (8-1, 5-0) will host Windom Area on Monday. BLHS will play at Winsted-Holy Trinity on Monday.
Sibley East 73, GFW 38
WINTHROP — Sibley East defeated Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop on Friday in a nonconference boys’ basketball game.
Connor Kranz led the Wolverines with 18 points, Scott Holmquist scored 11 points and Devon Schultz added 10 points.
Zach Weber had 10 points for GFW.
GFW (2-6) will host Nicollet on Tuesday.
Sleepy Eye 65,
New Ulm Cathedral 43
SLEEPY EYE — Sleepy Eye defeated New Ulm Cathedral on Friday in a Tomahawk Conference boys’ basketball game.
Zach Haala led all scorers with 22 points while Ben Laffen and Carter Brinkman each added 10 points apiece for Sleepy Eye.
Nate Hauser led the Greyhounds with 17 points and Jon Zinniel had 15 points.
Sleepy Eye will host crosstown rival St. Mary’s on Tuesday. Cathedral (3-8) will play at Minnesota Valley Lutheran on Tuesday.
Mankato Loyola 71, Nicollet 54
MANKATO — Mankato Loyola defeated Nicollet on Friday in Valley Conference boys’ basketball action.
Ean Tomsen scored 20 points and he had five rebounds. Riley Hulke added 15 points and 11 assists for Nicollet.
Nicollet will travel to Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop on Tuesday.

GRANADA — Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Martin Luther/Truman defeated Madelia on Friday in a Valley Conference boys’ basketball game.
Matthew Baumgartner scored 19 points and Ernesto Arizmendi had 13 points for Madelia.
Madelia (1-9) will play at Martin County West on Thursday.
Girls’ basketball
Springfield 62, BLHS 42
HECTOR — Springfield defeated Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart on Friday in a Tomahawk Conference girls’ basketball game.
Vishe Rabb led Springfield with 27 points, Shylyn Lothert added 11 points and Katelyn Hauth had eight points.
Springfield (8-4) will play at Wabasso on Monday. BLHS will play at Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart on Tuesday.

MORGAN — Cedar Mountain/Comfrey continued its winning ways with a victory over Minnesota Valley Lutheran on Friday in a Tomahawk Conference girls’ basketball game.
Paige Richert led the Cougars with 27 points, 18 rebounds and four steals. Lauren Boyle had 19 points, seven steals and five assists. Jordan Kevelin added 12 points, five rebounds and four steals and Taylor Rose scored 12 points.
Emma Nelson scored eight points and Cham Omot had seven points for MVL.
CM/C (9-0, 4-0) will host Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart on Tuesday. MVL will play at New Ulm Cathedral on Monday.
