MADELIA – Cleveland defeated Madelia 63-0 Friday night in a Valley conference football game.

Cleveland had 503 yards of total offense. Carter Kopet had one touchdown run of 54 yards and four touchdown passes.

Madelia (1-3) plays at Nicollet at 7 p.m. on Friday. Cleveland (4-0) hosts Fulda at 7 p.m. on Friday.

Girl’s tennis

Waseca 4, New Ulm 3

NEW ULM – Waseca edged New Ulm on Friday in a Big South Conference girl’s tennis match.

The deciding match occured at No. 1 singles where Taylor Bolduan lost to the Waseca player.

Rose Dobie of New Ulm won at No. 2 singles and New Ulm earned wins in two out of the three doubles matches.

New Ulm will travel to Marshall on Saturday in a triangular meet against Marshall and Albert Lea.

Girl’s soccer

New Ulm 1, Worthington 0

WORTHINGTON – Kaye Rysdahl’s goal at the 17th minute of the second half helped New Ulm to defeat Worthington on Friday in a Big South Conference girl’s soccer match.

Paige Kalis got the assist on Rysdahl’s goal.

Emily Schotzko had 11 saves for the Eagles. New Ulm had a total of 41 shots on goal.

New Ulm (3-6) will face Southwestern Christian at 5 p.m. on Monday in Chaska.

Boy’s soccer

Worthington 4, New Ulm 2

NEW ULM – Worthington defeated New Ulm 4-2 Friday night in a Big South Conference boy’s soccer game.

New Ulm’s goals were scored by Nate Miller, who was assisted by Joel Koelpin with 26:28 left in the first half and Wyatt Huard with 10:39 left in the first half.

New Ulm hosts Jordan on Monday at 4:30 p.m.
