MORGAN – Cedar Mountain/Comfrey defeated Redwood Valley 25-22, 25-9, 25-13 Tuesday night in a nonconference volleyball game.

CM/C was led by Abby Jemmings who had 26 assists, seven digs, and four ace serves. Paige Richert had nine kills, a dig and a block and Makenzie Kerkoff had nine kills, two digs and a block.

CM/C (7-1) hosts Sleepy Eye on Thursday.

Springfield 3, Fulda 0

SPRINGFIELD – Springfield defeated Fulda 25-10, 25-17, 25-18 on Tuesday in a nonconference volleyball match.

Callie Wersal led the Tigers with 31 set assists, Vishe’ Rabb added 11 kills and one set assist and Alyssa Streich had eight kills.

Springfield (6-3, 0-1) will play at Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop on Thursday.

GFW 3, BLHS 0

FAIRFAX – Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop defeated Buffalo Lake-Hector Stewart 25-16, 25-23, 25-14 Tuesday night in a Tomahawk Conference volleyball game.

GFW was led by Jenn Palmer who had six kills, 22 assists and five digs, Emma Jo Elder who had eight kills, two assists and a dig, and Halley Busse who had 21 digs.

GFW hosts Springfield at 7 p.m. on Thursday and BLHS plays at Mayer Lutheran at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.

Mankato Loyola 3, Madelia 0

MANKATO – Mankato Loyola swept Madelia 25-14, 25-17, 25-22 on Tuesday in Valley Conference volleyball action.

Lizzie Cooling led Madelia with 15 set assists and one kill. Melodie DeVlaeminck added four kills and Briana Ardolf had 10 digs.

Madelia (1-8, 0-2) will host Martin Luther-Granada Huntley-East Chain-Truman on Thursday.

NYA 3, Sibley East 0

GAYLORD – Norwood-Young America defeated Sibley East 25-11, 25-22, 25-16 on Tuesday in a nonconference volleyball match.

Morgan Stearns had 13 set assists, seven kills and two digs for the Wolverines. Taylor Brinkman added 10 set assists, five kills, one dig and one block and Taylor Perschau added 11 digs.

Sibley East (3-6, 0-1) will host Jordan on Thursday.

RRC 3, HL-O 0

HERON LAKE – Red Rock Central swept Heron Lake-Okabena 25-14, 26-24, 25-23 on Tuesday in a Red Rock Conference volleyball match.

Rachel Kedl had 11 kills, 12 digs and 12 set assists. Brittney Bierl added 14 set assists and Kennedi Janssen had 14 set assists. Vanessa Kedl added 14 digs.

RRC will host Minnesota Southwest Christian on Thursday.

St. Clair 3, Nicollet 0

NICOLLET – St. Clair downed Nicollet 25-10, 25-16, 25-18 on Tuesday in a Valley Conference volleyball match.

Nicole Hall had 15 set assists, Natasha Young added 30 attacks with eight kills and Lindsey Boerger had 16 attacks with eight kills

Nicollet (1-4, 1-1) will play at Maple River on Thursday.

Boy’s soccer

Marshall 4, New Ulm 2

MARSHALL – Marshall defeated New Ulm 4-2 in boy’s soccer on Tuesday in Big South Conference action.

Ben Johnson and Wyatt Huard each scored a goal for New Ulm.

New Ulm hosts Worthington on Thursday.
