NICOLLET – Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s swept Nicollet 25-12, 25-15, 25-23 in a nonconference volleyball match on Monday.

Anna Lux led the Knights (6-0) offensively with 11 kills, while Ali Beltz had seven and Sarah Reinarts had five. Jody Hansen had 26 set assists and 15 digs, while Beltz had three service aces and 10 digs and Megan Labat had 28 digs.

Stats were not submitted for Nicollet.

St. Mary’s hosts Cathedral on Thursday, while Nicollet hosts St. Clair on Tuesday.

GFW 3, LP/HT 1

LESTER PRAIRIE – Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop defeated Lester Prairie/Holy Trinity 20-25, 25-21, 25-20, 25-10 in a nonconference volleyball match on Monday.

Stats for GFW were not submitted to The Journal by time of press.

GFW will return to Tomahawk Conference action on Tuesday, when it hosts Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart.

Worthington 3, New Ulm 0

WORTHINGTON – Worthington swept New Ulm 25-11, 25-20, 25-17 in a Big South Conference volleyball match on Monday.

Dani Hogue had two service aces and Emma Bute had three kills to lead the Eagles offensively. Defensively, Makenna Kluis and Kayla Brandes had nine digs apiece.

New Ulm hosts Blue Earth Area on Tuesday.

HAYFIELD – Red Rock Central went 3-1 at the Hayfield volleyball tournament on Saturday.

In the first match, RRC defeated Lewiston-Altura 25-21, 22-25, 15-8. Rachel Kedl had 14 kills and three service aces as well as 14 digs. Kennedi Janssen had 11 set assists and Kyra Osland had eight set assists.

In the second match, RRC lost to Hayfield 25-13, 25-10. Kaitlyn Rindfleisch led the Falcons (5-3) with five kills and Kedl had 12 digs.

In the third match, RRC beat Lyle/Pacelli 25-18, 19-25, 15-6. Rindfleisch had nine kills and Kedl had eight kills and 12 digs.

In the final match, RRC beat Alden-Conger 25-22, 25-27, 15-8. Kedl had 13 kills and 11 digs. Janssen had 15 set assists and Osland had eight set assists.
