Prep football roundup: Rabbits win big over Chargers

Wabasso 48, MVL 14

WABASSO- Wabasso beat Minnesota Valley Lutheran 48-14 in Southwest District-East action on Friday night.

Mitchell Fulton of Wabasso carried the ball 18 times for 228 yards with five rushing touchdowns. Cooper Taylor had a 56-yard toucdown reception from Fulton to finish the scoring for Wabasso.

For MVL, Matt Munsen tallied one rushing touchdown and one receiving touchdown from A.J. Buboltz for MVL.

For Wabasso, Jared Welch had 11 rushes for 41 yards and Cooper Taylor had two receptions for 69 yards.

Defensively for Wabasso, Caleb Frericks had 4 1/2 tackles.

For MVL, Munsen rushed for 25 yards on one carry and one touchdown. Jake Kettner had two receptions for 46 yard and Jacob Kiecher had four receptions for 42 yards.

David Moreno had eight tackles and Buboltz had seven tackles.

Wabasso travels to Cedar Mountain/Comfrey at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. MVL will host New Ulm Cathedral at 7 p.m. on Friday.

RRC 29, CM/C 7

LAMBERTON- Red Rock Central beats Cedar Mountain/Comfrey 29-7 in Southwest District-East action on Friday night.

RRC tallied a 21-point second quarter with both teams going blank in the second half.

RRC’s Garrett Marsh was 14-of-23 passing for 241 yards and three touchdown completions on the night.

For CM/C, Eli Samuelson went 7-of-19 passing with 125 passing yards and two interceptions.

RRC’s Sam Hansen carried the ball 32 times for 107 yards with one rushing touchdown and one receiving touchdown. Brady Rasmussen had five receptions for 82 yards and one touchdown.

For CM/C Austin Windschitl carried the ball nine times with a total of 33 yards with one touchdown. Dylan Hillesheim had two receptions for a total of 67 yards.

Defensively for CM/C, Blake Harmoning had eight tackles with Ben Schacher also with eight tackles.

Red Rock Central travels to Springfield at 7 p.m. on Friday night.

CM/C will host Wabasso at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

TCU 22, New Ulm 6

MONTGOMERY – Tri-City United defeated New Ulm on Friday in a South Central District-Red District football game.

Alex Portner threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to Cooper Yackley in the second quarter for the Eagle’s lone touchdown.

Jordan Hillesheim rushed 13 times for 30 yards and he caught five passes for 40 yards.

New Ulm (1-1) will host Marshall on Thursday.
