NEW ULM - Recommendations from the Planning Commission are on the City Council agenda tonight.
A recommendation from the Board of Zoning and Adjustment might be controversial. Zoning agreed to recommend an application from Cathedral of the Holy Trinity to place a structure within 5 feet of the northerly property line during April's meeting. The vote was not unanimous with Councilor Ruth Ann Webster casting a dissenting vote.
The request is to relocate a maintenance garage to ensure easier access. The Board agreed the structure should be moved, but Webster was uncertain if a variance should be granted for its relocation.
Recommendations from the Planning Commission include a request from Scott Krueger on behalf of Bondal, Inc., for lot divisions of the properties at 304-312 on 16th South Street. A lot division at 901 S. Valley St. is also being recommended for Garett Meyer.
A Conditional Use Permit will also considered for an apartment building at 123 S. Minnesota St. A similar permit was previously approved, but the permit was amended to move the structure 83 feet farther south.
The Council will also decide on whether to allow the construction of a 12-foot high fence at New Ulm Steel and Recycling.
The Council meets at 5 p.m. at city hall.
