Sleepy Eye 71

Sleepy Eye - Wabasso squeaked out a win against Tomahawk Conference opponent Sleepy Eye on Friday in girls' basketball action.

Chelsey Guetter led all scorers with 29 points for the Rabbits. Morgan Frank and Karlee Eichten had 14 and 13 points, respectively.

Madison Heiderscheidt and Josie Schieffert each had 15 points for the Indians.

Wabasso (14-0, 9-0) plays at home against Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop on Monday, while Sleepy Eye (9-8, 4-6) will take on its cross-town rival Sleepy Eye St. Mary's on Monday.

Cathedral 61, GFW 42

WINTHROP - New Ulm Cathedral defeated Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop 61-42 in a Tomahawk Conference girls' basketball game on Friday.

Karlee Pfaff led the Greyhounds with 20 points. Anne Schwartz added 14 points, while Kristin Mohr recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

The Thunderbirds were led by Halle Busse with 16 points.

Cathedral (8-5, 5-5) plays next on Monday at home against Lester Prairie, while GFW (4-9, 3-7) travels to take on Wabasso on Monday.

Springfield 65, MVL 54

SPRINGFIELD - Springfield surprised Minnesota Valley Lutheran Friday night in a Tomahawk Conference girl's basketball game.

Joeli Arnoldi led the Tigers with 19 points, six rebounds and four assists. Therese Roiger scored 11 points and she had eight rebounds. Amy Davis scored 10 points.

Anna Munsen scored 29 points for MVL to lead all scorers.

Springfield (6-6, 5-4) will play at Granada-Huntley-East Chain tonight.

Minnesota Valley Lutheran (10-4, 6-3) will play at Waterville-Elysian-Morristown tonight.

BOLD 67, BLHS 61

HECTOR - BOLD defeated Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart Friday night in nonconference girls basketball action.

Ericka Zanorth scored 20 points and she had nine rebounds for the Mustangs. Katie Kalenberg added 13 points and Michelle Melsha scored 12 points.

BLHS (2-10, 2-7) will host New Ulm Cathedral on Tuesday night in a Tomahawk Conference game.

St. Peter boys run past New Ulm

St. Peter 75, New Ulm 66

NEW ULM - St. Peter defeated New Ulm in a South Central Conference boys' basketball game on Friday.

Grant Kannegieser led the Eagles with 16 points and nine rebounds. Tyler Dietrich and Matt Rowley added 14 and 13 points, respectively.

New Ulm (2-14) hosts Sibley East on Tuesday.

Redwood Valley 78, Worthington 70

WORTHINGTON - Caquez Perkins led Redwood Valley with 24 points in a victory over Southwest Conference opponent Worthington on Friday.

Sam Pendleton scored 13 points, and Mitchell Fischer scored 12 points.

Redwood Valley (12-3, 6-1) plays again on Tuesday at Marshall.

HBC 68, RRC 48

LAMBERTON - Hills Beaver Creek outscored Red Rock Central 42-26 in the second half as it downed RRC Friday night in a Red Rock Conference boys basketball game.

Thomas Blomgren scored 10 points for RRC.

Red Rock Central (0-14, 0-10) will host Southwest United on Tuesday night.

BLHS 49, CM/C 46

MORGAN - Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart edged Cedar Mountain/Comfrey Friday night in a Tomahawk Conference boys basketball game.

Tate Lang scored 18 points for BLHS while Kyle Kubesh added 15 points. CM/C was led by Chandler rose with 13 points, nine rebounds and two blocks. Riley Kerkhoff added 11 points and eight rebounds.

BLHS (7-8, 5-5) will play at Madelia on Monday. CM/C (8-8, 5-6) will play on Tuesday at Springfield.
