Chargers get past Nicollet, GFW wins

MVL 69, Nicollet 40

NICOLLET - Minnesota Valley Lutheran defeated Nicollet 69-40 in a nonconference girl's basketball game Tuesday night.

Leading the way for MVL was Anna Munsen with 21 points and 10 rebounds and Johanna Kettner with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Emily Skrien led Nicollet with 14 points.

MVL (8-3, 4-2) travels to Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop Friday.

Nicollet (1-8, 1-5) visits Alden-Conger on Thursday.

GFW 56, SESM 43

SLEEPY EYE - Gibbon-FairfaxWinthrop defeated Sleepy Eye St. Mary's in a Tomahawk Conference girl's basketball Tuesday night.

GFW was led by Halley Busse with 26 points and Alexis Jensen with 13.

Leading in scoring for St. Mary's was Nikki Carr with 13 points and Sabrina Portner with 10 points.

GFW (4-6, 3-4) hosts Montevideo on Thursday.

St. Mary's (4-7, 2-5) travels to Mankato Loyola on Thursday.

Wabasso 60, CMC 49

MORGAN - Wabasso defeated Cedar Mountain/Comfrey in a Tomahawk Conference girls basketball matchup Tuesday.

Chelsey Guetter led Wabasso with 18 points.

CM/C was led by Brianna Lund with 17 points and 6 rebounds, Natalie Hoffbeck with 10 points, and Paige Richert with eight rebounds.

Wabasso (12-0, 7-0) hosts Minneota on Thursday.

CM/C (7-4, 4-4) travels to Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City on Thursday.
