"We outgrew our old building and needed additional space to give customers more of what they've come to expect from Runnings." said Toni Breu, Runnings Store Manager. "The response from customers who have visited our new store has been extremely positive."
Runnings sells more than 70,000 items including farm, home, clothing, tools, automotive, pet, feed, lawn and garden and more. As part of an expanded selection of sporting goods, Runnings plans to sell firearms which will be phased in over the next few weeks.
Additional staff to support the new store is in place. More hirings are planned.
A grand opening is planned for April 23-27. More than $30,000 in prize giveaways will be part of the event.
Founded in 1947, Runnings is privately owned and operated by Dennis and Adele Reed. The company has 34 stores and employs more than 1,200 workers across Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Montana.
