New Ulm girls improve to 2-0 with 6-3 win

WILLMAR - The New Ulm girls defeated Willmar 6-3 in nonconference girls hockey action Tuesday.

Erika Ries scored New Ulm's first goal off an assist from Brittany Denn and Sam Guggisberg. Brook Schugel scored on an assist from Morgan Schaefer and Lexi Weiss scored on an assist from Miranda McMullen and Morgan Schaefer.

Denn scored New Ulm's fourth goal on an assist from Lauren Klein and Morgan Schaefer scored the fifth goal, which was assisted by McMullen and Schugel.

Schugel added an empty-netter, which was assisted by Weiss.

Julia Schaefer had 23 saves for the Eagles.

New Ulm (2-0) hosts Henry Sibley on Saturday.
