SLEEPY EYE - Dick Nesvold, President/CEO of SouthPoint Federal Credit Union has been named a "Rock Star" by Credit Union Magazine, a Madison, Wis.,-based credit union magazine covering the United States. Nesvold was one of 48 rock stars from a broad cross-section of credit unions, leagues and related organizations recognized in a special edition.
The designation of "rock star" recognizes that its recipients not only have extraordinary suggestions but also the passion, conviction and drive to put those bright ideas into action, according to a press release.
The vision is simple yet profound: Making people's lives a little bit better each day.
"Fortunately, the credit union charter and the cooperative philosophy are pretty cool things," Nesvold says in the press release. "I'm not sure our members and potential members always understand what that means, but for us in leadership roles, it's very meaningful. Our focus and vision are about the betterment of our members. I hope every day I can have a positive impact on somebody, somewhere, someplace."
SouthPoint Federal Credit Union is a not-for-profit, cooperative financial institution serving individuals who live, work, worship or attend school in, and businesses and other legal entities located in Brown, Redwood, Renville, Nicollet, Sibley, Blue Earth or LeSueur counties.
