PREP FOOTBALL ROUND-UP: Nicollet wins wild one

Nicollet 78, Randolph 58

RANDOLPH - Dalton Elliott broke the Nicollet High School career touchdown record Friday night as the Raiders defeated Randolph 78-58 Friday night in a Southern Confederacy 9-man football game.

Elliott was 24-for-41 passing for 341 yards and five touchdowns. He also rushed 22 times for 223 yards and ran for two touchdowns. Elliott now has 59 career touchdowns with three regular season games left to play. The old record was 58.

Matt Fisher had seven catches for 161 yards and two touchdowns. Ken Fisher scored two touchdowns, one of them was on a 95-yard kickoff return. Matt Christenson took that kick-off initially and then he passed it to Fisher who ran for the touchdown.

Christenson had 11 tackles and one sack

Nicollet (5-0) hosts Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton next Friday night.

St. James 30, New Ulm 14

ST. JAMES - St. James defeated New Ulm in a South Central Conference football game Friday.

New Ulm's Blake Piotter had nine carries for 56 yards and one rushing touchdown. Bryan Dewanz had six carries for 57 yards and Jackson Yackley had eight carries for 30 yards. Matt Rowley had 15 tackles and Tevin Mooter added 14 tackles.

New Ulm (0-6 overall, 0-4 in SCC) will host Waseca Friday for New Ulm's Homecoming game.

Madelia 44,

Alden-Conger 14

ALDEN - Madelia defeated Alden-Conger 44-14 Friday night in a Southern Confederacy Conference 9-man football game.

Landon Martinez scored two rushing touchdowns and Jack Bergman added two touchdowns for the Blackhawks. Quarterback Kyle Schultz threw a 9-yard touchdown pass to Jake Denn. Schultz also rushed 18 times for 102 yards.

Bergman and Derrick VanHee each had 10 tackles for Madelia defensively. Denn added 18 tackles.

Madelia (3-2, 3-2) hosts Cleveland next Friday night.

Springfield 41, CM/C 22

MORGAN-Nick Runck rushed 26 times for 202 yards and scored four touchdowns as Springfield defeated Cedar Mountain/Comfrey 41-22 Friday night in a Southern Minnesota Conference football game.

Rose Chandler passed for 140 yards for CM/C and Colton Kunkel had 70 yards receiving.

Springfield (3-2, 3-2) hosts Minnesota Valley Lutheran next Friday night in its Homecoming game. CM/C (1-4) hosts Sleepy Eye St. Mary's on Friday.

Medford 55, GFW 18

WINTHROP - Medford defeated Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop in Gopher Valley football action Friday.

No stats were submitted from the game.

GFW (0-5) hosts Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial on Friday.

MCW 62, Sleepy Eye 0

SLEEPY EYE - Martin County West crushed Sleepy Eye in Southern Minnesota Conference football action Friday.

No stats were submitted from the game.

The Indians (0-5) host Red Rock Central on Friday and MCW (5-0) is at Wabasso on Friday.

Wabasso 34, RRC 0

LAMBERTON - In a battle of Southern Minnesota Conference rivals, Wabasso defeated Red Rock Central Friday.

Wabasso's Tanner Bock rushed for 97 yards and four touchdowns and quarterback Neil Eichten threw for 310 yards and a touchdown. T.J. Fulton had 140 yards receiving.

Wabasso (5-0) host Martin County West in a battle of SMC unbeatens Friday. RRC (0-5) battles Sleepy Eye (0-5) on Friday in Sleepy Eye.
