Springfield boys take third at YME

Cross Country round-up

MONTEVIDEO - The Springfield boys cross country team took third at the Yellow Medicine East Invite on Thursday.

Dylan Nachreiner led the ways for the boys, finishing fifth in 19:01. Collin Daub (seventh, 19:11) and Chaz Kleinschmidt (12th, 19:35) led the way.

Karen Fukui was 14th in 17:45 and Ashley Larson was 28th in 19:11.

Knights compete at Redwood Invite

REDWOOD FALLS - The Sleepy Eye St.?Marys'/Sleepy Eye/New Ulm Cathedral cross country competed at the Redwood Valley Invite. The girls' team finished third out of five teams while the boys team was fifth out of five teams.

Brianna Polesky finished in fourth place for the Knights in 16:52. Mary Joyce was 10th (18:19), Cassidy Hacker was 11th (18:20), Mariah Salfer was 16th (19:29) and Jenny Lax finished in 19th (19:45). Polesky earned a medal for her finish.

Stephen Joyce led the boys and finished 11th in 20:04. Ben Jakobitz was 19th (20:18), Nick DeMaris was 31st (21:00), Zachary Long was 37th (22:37) and Ruben Astorga was 40th (22:59).
