An unexpected service

The Journal

To the editor:

I had something happen to me Monday that I have never had happen before.

I was not having a good day. It started off by going out to work in the garden. I got stung by a bee. Then it went down my shirt and stung me again. Then it was time to take off to work. I was coming to the "Y" intersection of Highway 14 and 15. I started to hear air leak out of my back tire at the same time as I saw an 18-wheeler sitting in the ditch along the hill on Highway 15. Minnesota State Troopers were everywhere and my tire was leaking out real fast and I was stuck in traffic.

I pulled off to the road and started to change the tire. I looked for the jack and the wrench and if you used one of these things before you know how they work. A State Trooper pulled up behind me with his lights on. I thought to myself, here we go. He got out of his car and then asked me if I need a big "T"wrench to get the lug nuts loose? I said ya sure. He brought it over and changed my tire for me. All I had to do was take my spare out from under my pick up.

I have never seen or heard of this done before. I was shocked but shook his hand. I told him that I have never in my life heard or seen anything like this before coming from a Minnesota State Trooper. I wanted to thank him for what he did. I wished I would have looked at his name tag so I could send him a thank-you in the mail. So I hope that it works to say Thank You this way. You know whom you are. This turned my whole day around.

Thanks again!
